Black Bamboo Chasen Matcha Whisk
This is a traditional ceremonial whisk, or chasen, made from a single piece of bamboo. It is the essential tool for preparing a perfect frothy and creamy matcha.
The black bamboo is grown in Japan, and dried for at least 2 years. This slow drying process makes the bamboo very strong and long lasting. Each prong is expertly cut with a knife, before being woven with string to open them out. The fine prongs create a smooth, frothy cup of matcha every time.
