The Jewel of Taiwanese oolongs owes its unique characteristics to a tiny leafhopper: the Jacobiasca formosana. These insects nibble the leaves of the white tip oolong during its growth, kick-starting the oxidation process. The result is a delicious coppery velvet liquor with aromas of orchid and muscat grape.
